Fly as in a noun or a name of an insect.

I took this shot with HTC Hero and you can have a look at the quality of the camera.

Talking about Flies, there are two things I never really figure out about them.

Whenever there are some stinky decompose stuff, flies would just appear out of no where after a certain time.

I hate flies appearing in eating places. In places like this, some hawkers would put a big packet of water under the spot light where the food are. They believe in this way will get rid of the flies. How it work, I do not really know but somehow it seems to work. I wonder why.

Calibrate your keyboard on Android HTC Hero

As HTC Hero is my first smart phone, I had a hard time keying characters using touch screen. Accuracy is one thing that slow me down and frustrate me. The calibration option was not easily found either but once I found the calibrate keyboard option, everything start to change.

As different users have different way of keying text. Some uses one hand by thumb while some uses both hands like playing Gameboy. Whatever way you prefer just stick to the way you normally will key your text for consistency when calibrating the keyboard.

To go into calibrating mode choose the following.

Settings > Local & text > Touch Input > Calibration Tool

The calibration require you to type "the quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog" as it would cover all alphabets and start to remember the way you keys in your text location on screen.

Be warned that in any stages of calibrating and you press a wrong key, it will remember the error as a calibration and thus you will have to restart the whole calibration again. However once you done it well, your speed of texting will increase in proficiency.

My Android HTC Hero

It has been sometime since I wanted to get a smart phone and while everyone was going for iPhone, I looked for something different which appeal more to me. One of my friend was using HTC Hero and after I tired it out for sometime, I realized this come closer to what I am looking for.

HTC Hero uses Android OS which has much potential in it as it is now also power the "Google" phone Nexus One which is from HTC too.The phone offer Wi-Fi, mobile internet access and bluetooth interface.

I love the widgets and HTC Sense interface. They served not only as eye-candy but software with substances. If anytime you need any software, you can access the market inbuilt to download any software you like. However not all software are free but most are and it is easy to download it.

Overall I am quite well pleased to have this Android phone for offering me good entertainment system for music, games, videos and internet accessed for tweeting, blogging and other social services.

More of Android stuff later. :)

New Zealand want More Singaporean

You hear that right. New Zealand are looking for skilled workers and are targeting Singaporean and Hong Kong.

According to the News, last year, only 114 Singaporeans became permanent residents in New Zealand, 92 of them through the skilled and business stream.

"New Zealand will need more skilled migrants to remain competitive, and if we wanted immigrants who spoke English from our region, then Singapore and Hong Kong would be the two obvious centres to target," Profesor Spoonley said.

Would-be migrants will be told of comparatively cheaper housing and car ownership, and the relaxed lifestyle. Those interested in becoming New Zealanders will be invited to register their interest online.

"We have attracted migrants who have gained jobs as nurses, teachers, accountants, ICT technicians, electricians, retail managers ... to name a few of the more popular occupations," Dr Coleman said.

"The skilled and business stream is aimed at people who will bring needed skills and capital and proven entrepreneurial abilities into the country."

"We have found Asians to be more entrepreneurial and to have better business networks, not just with their home countries but also in their industries.

"The bigger money may be with countries like China, but I think Singaporeans, being more proficient in English and having a better understanding of the Western culture, will be able to adapt better to the New Zealand lifestyle," he said.

Well it really good to have some choices isn't it?

Revisit Singapore Newspaper Achieves

I remember during my secondary History project, we have to head to National library to search for some old news from newspaper. In those days, the information was captured by Micro films. It is pretty fun to roll the film and see the projection of the newspapers appear again on a white background.

Today the students who need to do History project were made easier. The National Library of Singapore had use the latest technology to tag micro-film and allow digital search online. All you need to do is to head over to and start a search with any keyword you desire. Not only that, you can share some of your search results via email, facebook , twitter and any other media sites.

It allow viewing of newspaper by dates which if you like see what happened on the day when you are born or some special day in your life. It is commendable effort for Singapore National Library to do such achieves so to preserve information for the future generation.

If you must know, the oldest achieve is as old as 1831! Go and take a look. :)
