The Singapore Pledge moment

To celebrate this year Singapore National Day on 9 August 2009, there will be a campaign for all Singaporeans to join the ‘Pledge Moment’. It will be a time when all Singaporeans from different places to come together to say our Singapore pledge in one voice.

At this precise moment of 8:22PM (Singapore Time), together with everyone at the Float at Marina Bay, everyone will raise to say the pledge together to celebrate our Singapore nation’s 44th Birthday!

I always love the words and the meaning of our Singapore Pledge written by Sinnathamby_Rajaratnam:

We, the citizens of Singapore
Pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
to build a democratic society,
based on justice and equality,
so as to achieve happiness,
prosperity
and progress for our nation.

From now till 2359 12 August 2009, there will be a contest for 10 lucky winner who upload their video saying the pledge on Youtube. Click here to check out the full detail.

SK I am not too sure too. Maybe lucky number? LOL I think it has to do with the parade schedule and timing.
